Patience: Often, a tooth will be tender/sore after having a root canal. This can last several days or more, especially if the tooth and tissues surrounding the tooth's root were in bad shape before the root canal. The root canal takes care of the cause of the problem, but the surrounding tissues still need time to heal. If it lasts more than a few days or so, see the treating dentist.
