Pain: Kidney pain is usually referred to the flank. Pain in the buttocks can be due to several issues among them sacroiliac joint dysfunction, pyriformis syndrome, facet syndrome, lumbar disc disease, or possibly direct trauma to the sacrum itself. So as you can see is not an easy answer. You need to see a physician and discuss the onset, duration, aggravating and alleviating factors for your pain.
