A 55-year-old female asked:

Fell twice on my buttocks at 2 twice. had renal us. findings: renal cortical thickness&echogenicity unremarkable for both kidneys. a lower pole cyst 9x9x11mm at the r kidney.no hydronephrosis,mass,cyst,or renal stone is evident. do i need surgery?

Not for the cyst: All results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Solitary renal cysts are not uncommon.
