Kidneys: Are about in the middle of the back, under the ribs, so likely they are OK. You can obtain a urine sample to help Dort through this. It still sounds muscular, but be examined because of the unusual symptoms. You could temporarily stop drinking coffee as a trial. All the best sorting this one out.
