Yes it's dangerous!: Valium, like many other controlled substances, is dangerous. That is why you cannot buy it over-the-counter. You need a prescription from a qualified medical professional. So if your dentist prescribed it, he or she concluded that it is probably safe for you in the dose that was recommended, for the purpose that it was intended.
