Depends: The duration of action is on average 7-8 hrs but that doesn't mean it will be cleared from your system by then. I suppose it depends on what the drug test screens for and it they will consider a benzodiazepine as an illicit drug. You can always get a note from the dentist perhaps?

Urine clearance: Valium is stored in fat and has several metabolites. That means on hangs out in the body for a bit. It will show up in a urine drug screen 3-5 days. Definitely get a note from your dentist or delay your test for a week.
