No: Just make sure someone drives you there and back. If valium is necessary for anxiety, take it 1/2 hr. Before your appointment. If you're not anxious, do without!

No.: Ironic that valium is prescribed for apprehension and here you are apprehensive about taking it! don't worry, it will merely calm you down for the appointment and make it go much better. You should have someone who drives you back and forth from the appointment as some people are more relaxed than others on the same dose and won't be safe driving. Good luck!

Probably not.: While certain medical conditions could make taking valium a concern, your dentist would have reviewed your health history. In most cases, valium reduces stress thereby reducing your medical risk. Review any additional questions with your dentist who may want you to avoid eating certain things for a period of time before your appointment and have someone drive you to the office; then go for it ;).

Not at all: Valium is a very effective relaxation agent. You should take a low dosage once or twice, a few nights before your dental appointment to see what it feels like. You'll be relaxed and 'not concerned' during your appointment.

Are you healthy?: If you are healthy and he or she has prescribed a safe amount you shouldn't worry about taking it. It is very useful for patients with dental anxiety.
