See below: Xarelto (or the 2 others) are mainly in non-valvular atrial fib (also now in pe, dvt). It is safer in view of other drugs and food in keeping its level of activity. The alternative is Coumadin (warfarin) or the injectables in which levels can change with food and meds and have to be followed closely. Xarelto is simpler and safer as long as you fit the indications.
