Yes: Melancholic depression responds best to tricyclic antidepressants (ads). Atypical depression responds best to monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Bipolar depression responds best to various combinations of atypical antipsychotics +/- ads. Winter depression responds best to light treatment. Psychotic depression requires an antipsychotic + ads. Psychotherapy is best for mild to moderate depressions.
