A member asked:

If water breaks @ 35.5 weeks and dilated 3cm, can doctors stop labour from progressing, or once both happen, that's it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: After water breaking you will deliver your baby. It's a preterm labor rupture of membrane. I imaging that you are in a maternity unit and you have been check by a doctor or midwife. Likely your contractions will start within 24 hrs. If you tested pos for gbs during preg you will be induce asap. Risk of infection increase if baby not deliver within 48 hrs. Most doctor will induce and deliver asap.
