A member asked:

Is there anything that i should be careful of (i.e., nutrients that are easy to accidentally reduce to an unhealthy level of consumption) when following a low fodmap diet? so far it is great for me.

FODMaP Diet: Fodmap stands for "fermentable oligo-di -monosaccharides and polyols" -- which are sugars found in foods. Eating a diet low in these may help people with irritable bowel syndrome, who sometimes have difficulty digesting those components. Great info here: http://tinyurl.Com/lpsqgkg you should still be able to get your nutritional needs met on this food plan. Enjoy.

No problem !: Low fodmap diets are low in lactose, gluten and fructose. Most fruits and vegatables have some a, c and some have iron. You can have fruits that are loiw in fermentable sugars which generally have similar nutrients.

Push the green vegis: Some of the foods you avoid in this diet are also considered super foods and are very high in important nutrients so my biggest concern would be to learn all the green vegetables you are able to take and maximize them. In this case a good multi vitamin may help.
