Well,: Distended veins on the abdominal wall should be well examined as it can be a sign of collateral circulation. Namely that deeper pelvic/abdominal/portal veins are occluded and these superficial veins have taken over. Hope you liver is ok. You need to be in good hands to arrive to a final answer. Do not neglect!

Abdominal veins: It is not normal to have varicose veins on the abdomen. If they are truly varicose veins then they are a result of a vein blockage elsewhere. See a vein specialist for a venous evaluation.
