A member asked:

Why did my doctor give me pennicilin for a bladder infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Difficult to tell: Without having the results of a urine culture (if one was done) have no way to know what your doctor was thinking. Usually the penicillin derivative used for bladder infections is Ampicillin or amoxicillin, but if the organism is sensitive to pcn it might work. Talk to your doctor. Good luck.
