Definitions.: What are you defining as low grade fever and what are you referring to by delayed reaction. You might want to take your son back to the doctor after ten days for a repeat throat culture to see if the strep infection has been eradicated.

Low grade fever: Means different things to different people. If he has no new symptoms like runny nose, new cough, vomiting or diarrhea then an appointment is merited. If he has new symptoms hen would follow him. Your son should have an ear recheck appointment to make sure his ear is better. This is typically done 2-4 weeks after treatment.
