Unlikely: Pelvic pain can be a symptom of cervical cancer, but usually when it is more advanced. You should definitely talk to your doctor about your symptoms and the significance of your abnormal pap smear to see whether or not you need any additional testing, however.

Cramps and cervix: Cramping from a cervical condition often presents as menstrual cramps associated a heaviness and discomfort in the pelvic area.Additionally a cervical condition can produce abnormal discharge which may be excessive, watery and tinged with blood. One may also have a post coital bleeding .One needs to be examined, have pap/high risk hpv testing and colposcopy to rule out cancer of cervix.

Probably not...: Often cervical cancer does not give too much warning signs untill it is too late, thus routine screening is advised to catch it early. Uterine cramping occurs (common ater pap), but not likely cervix itself. Your pap is only "slightly abnormal", which is very common as well--probably ascus (atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance). F/u with doc, but not to worry too much.. Good luck..

No: There are several types of abnormal cells but they do not mean that you have cancer. Cramping in the cervix could be due to cervicitis which can be by cramping of the uterus. You may need to have an ultrasound to check for fibroids or ovarian cysts. Pelvic pain can also be caused by pubic pain or bladder pain.

Cervical cancer: In the presence of cervical cancer, your pap smear would be more than slightly abnormal.

Unlikely: Pap smears primarily detect precancerous changes that can be treated to avoid cancer. It would be very unusual for a slightly abnormal pap smear to indicate cancer. It can mean precancerous or just "minor changes" that can be observed over time. The most common symptom of cervix cancer is bleeding after intercourse. Cramping does not likely mean cancer.

Unlikely: Slightly abnormal pap smear is not cancer, nor is the "cramping in cervix". However, you need to stay vigilant and keep your appointments for regular pap smear check ups.
