Short term treatment: Yes. Anti inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen) can be very useful for an acute musculoskeletal injury. But not forever. Giving it a try, preferably with food, 3 times a day for a few days, as well as ice or heat (whichever feels better) and gentle stretching of the area until it feels better is usually enough. But it is not safe for every day, unless recommended by your doctor, past 1 month.
