Hi i'm in cross country and i've been having issues with my hip flexor/groin all season and my trainer has ruled out a strain and he thinks tendonitis?

Could be right: your trainer could be right, take ibuprofen 600-8-- mg every 6-8 hours around the O'CLOCK REGARDLESS IF YOU ARE HAVING PAIN OR NOT.FOR A WEEK AND SEE.
If better great , if not see a doctor, preferably a sport medicine specialist.
