A member asked:

How much sleep does a 72 year older need?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enough to feel reste: About 50% of people over the age of 65 experience inadequate sleep. There could be multiple causes for this. The answer to your question is that u need enough sleep to feel rested. I noticed that you have frequent urination and are prediabetic. Diabetes and sleep apnea often go hand-in-hand. People with sleep apnea secrete a hormone called atrial natriuretic factor. This causes frequent urination at night as well as fragmenting sleep even further. If you are concerned about not feeling rested or getting enough sleep i would recommend that you see a sleep specialist to have at least sleep apnea or any of the other approximately 80 sleep disorders rolled out.Nighty night.
