A member asked:

Autoimmune panel: what are the odds those tests will find anything wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

5%: These tests are callibrated on the basis of a statistical probability, typically accepting a 5% frequency of false positives. So they may be abnormal in 1 of 20 individuals, but that does not mean that there is anything "wrong".
