Blood tests : Autoimmune diseases develop when our immune system makes antibodies to fight our own proteins, such as those present in kidney, thyroid gland, pancreas, skin, and lining of joints. Auto-immune panel consists of different antibodies detected in serum against different tissues such as ana, antithyroid antibodies. Different types of antibodies suggest to us the different organs affected.

Group of tests: An "autoimmune panel" is a group of blood tests used to evaluate a person for the possibility of several autoimmune diseases. It is important to remember that no blood test is perfect, and getting to a diagnosis is usually much more complex than drawing blood and looking at a number on the results report.
