A member asked:

My father has multiple sclerosis, what are the chances of me and my kids getting it?

Higher than others: Your father is a close relative; you have a risk of about 3 to 5 chances in 100 of developing the disease; people without a family member have a risk of about 1 to 5 in 1000 in high risk areas. Ms is thought to be caused by inheriting a certain kind of immune system that responds badly to something in the environment. Your children's risk will be much lower, especially if you never get ms.

Quite low: At most 2-3%, in children, and almost nil in the grandkids.
