GET: A third opinion! indeed gather all the document and go for a third opinion. The location is critical. You have to have a clear answer. Maybe you go to the top neurologist at stanford university, not that far and very reputable place.

Tie Breaker: I'd have a third doctor look at the images, specifically a radiologist. Neurologists are familiar with brain imaging, but radiologists spend all day looking at medical imaging so they have more expertise. 8mm is a decent size when talking about brain lesions, so i would be surprised that it would be difficult to see. Are you sure both docs looked at the same study? Perhaps you need a repeat mri.
