I'm 24 weeks pregnant and have been taking just half of a vicodin a day for back pain. problem is i haven't told my ob, if i stop now, will it be detected in the baby at birth and will baby withdrawl?

Talk to doc: It is less than ideal to take narcotics at any time but especially during pregnancy. Talk with your doctor and come up with a plan to stop. If you are really only taking 1/2 per day you should not suffer withdraw symptoms but also it is no longer for your pain, it's now a bad habit. Good luck at getting clean.

Tell your Ob: I would highly suggest that you disclose all medications that you are taking to your OB for the safety of your child? They can discuss the risk/benefits of several different treatment options. Please make an informed decision.
