Yes: and its CRITICAL that your OB provider know this in advance. Depending on how much Vicodin you are taking, there is a chance that your baby will develop what is called neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). This doesn't happen in all babies, but babies where mothers are using opiates should be observed for at least 3 days to determine if NAS is present. It can be treated, but may take weeks.
