Vicodin crosses plac: Any med like that is safer the farther you are along and safer once you get out of your first trimester which is 13 /and 1/2 weeks, headaches are a difficult problem while you are pg because all of the usual migraine meds like zomig (zolmitriptan) are not safe during pg.

Not really.: There is no safe analgesic in pregnancy. Acetaminophen is the safest. Non steroid medications such as Ibuprofen or Naproxen are extremely unsafe. Any of the medications such as sumatriptan cannot be used. Usually the OB allows narcotics for severe pain relief. Yes the narcotics does affect the unborn child.

Pain medication: It is prudent to avoid taking any controlled narcotic pain medications when you are pregnant. Tylenol (acetaminophen) seems to be an appropriate choice but also avoid excessively taking it unless it is necessary.
