What surgery?: Would at least seek out another opinion, but would have to know a lot of detail.

What kind of surgery: Some operations are purely cosmetic, some are cosmetic or necessary for psychological reasons and others are for active problems or conditions that might or will progress. Some non-surgeons are very conserative whereas somesurgeons are over aggressive because they like to perform surgery and a few, regrettably may have some financial motivation. Advise get a second opinion.
