A 32-year-old female asked:
If blood test by pcr was negative for hla b27, does this mean i definitely don't have it? (one other blood test was positive; not sure of the type).

HLA B27: Indicates a genetic predisposition associated with ankylosing spondylitis and a number of inflammatory disorders. It does not mean you don't have whichever disorder you are referring to.

A 32-year-old female asked:
Few cases of iritis. Had hla-b27 blood test done. One was positive, one was negative (by pcr). Since PCR is most sensitive, does this mean i'm clear?

Tests do not : Change treatment of the iritis. The lab test only confirms the diagnosis and etiology of it.
