Typical: Not sure why "regular blood work" would include HSV1, but becoming positive without having any symptoms or signs of infection is very common. Most people who test positive can't really say when they might have been infected. Very unlikely to be infectious if no sores present, but most prudent would inform potential intimates--from kissers to lovers. Good wishes:)
