Basically same: Usually stroke from clot refers to embolism-clot formed somewhere else & travelled to affected area. Ischaemia refers to gradual progressive closure of an artery leading to ischaemic necrosis. Often the conditions may overlap & a clot may form at the site of obstructing artery.
