Look at airways: Bronchoscopy is a technique where a flexible scope is inserted through the vocal cords, and then advanced into the windpipe (trachea) and the airways that go into the lungs. Usually it is done to evaluate breathing problems. Biopsies may be done to help your doctor figure out why you are having trouble breathing. A bronch can usually be done under sedation.
