Diagnosis is largely: by symptoms. Bronchitis simply means inflammation (-itis) of the bronchial (bronch) tubes, regardless reason. If no phlegm or fever, would wait & follow. If new phlegm, especially if green, antibiotic may help. Hopefully you do not smoke, which greatly increases incidence of bronchitis over time.
