Suspicious for CTS: Your symptoms sound suspicious for carpal tunnel syndrome. If its primarily the thumb, index, and middle finger that become numb that would support the diagnosis. Swelling can often be a symptom but also a cause. I urge you to see your family doctor to have this evaluated because if it is carpal tunnel, chronicity is not good and can be associated with diminished outcomes with treatment.
