Compression syndrome: Uncertain what the mechanism here is but do you sleep on your rm?You will need to be evaluated regarding your shoulder area, vascular structure and the brachial plexus nerves near the shoulder. There could be compression of the structures in that shoulder area.

Numbness in arms: You need to be evaluated by a physician to make sure you do not have thoracic inlet syndrome.

Nerve impingement: Transient symptoms of numbness, tingling, swelling and weakness in one arm upon awakening are usually caused by nerve impingement due to sleep position. If symptoms do not improve shortly after waking and becoming active, one should consider another cause.
