Am i a candidate for fibromyalgia?

It depends: Fibromyalgia is a condition that affects both men and women but a much higher proportion of patients are women. There is specific set of criteria that is needed to make this diagnosis. So if you think that you may have this diagnosis you need to be evaluated by a physician who has the skill and experience based upon your history and physical exam to make a proper assessment.

If: 24 yo queries "candidacy" for fibromyalgia. Answer presumes knowledge of cause so here goes: femaleness, multiple childbirths, hypermobility, obesity, major joint injury (especially ligaments of pelvis), motor vehicle accident, chronic poor sleep, prolonged bed rest from an injury or disease. Avoid these & extreme sports (especially skiing/skateboarding) & falls onto buttocks. Keep muscles toned.
