Common Cold: Most of the common cold are due to virus and lasts less than a week. Over the counter medications for common cold will help with your symptoms. If symptoms persists then see a doctor.

Regarding your eyes: If you have pain or blurred vision this would suggest that this is more than a viral infection, seek medical attention. Note that if you have a viral conjunctivitis, antibiotics won't work so you would use decongestants, stay hydrated, use chilled artificial tears or naphcon eye drops for comfort and consider yourself contagious for another 3-7days. Feel better soon!
