Bulb suction trauma: The delicate tissues of baby noses is frequently traumatized and bleeds with over use or aggressive bulb suctioning for nasal congestion and discharge, and can also cause rebound congestion. Substituting normal saline drops, humidifying the air and limiting bulb suction should help. Prolonged nasal and eye discharge should prompt an evaluation by a healthcare practitioner.
