Hypopigmentation: Postinflammatory hypopigmentation is a common cause of acquired hypopigmentary disorders. It can be a result of cutaneous inflammation, injury or dermatological treatment. Eczema can cause this condition.. Most cases of postinflammatory hypopigmentation improve spontaneously within weeks or months. Treatment can be with Elidel (pimecrolimus) cream, non-steroid.

Two tone: Skin discoloration is very common with any topical cream. The treatment goal for eczema is to decrease inflammation and you have achieved that. Now be patient. The hypopigmentation will resolve in time. If this is not the case, consult with your pediatrician.
