Thrombocytopenia: Thrombocytopenia (low platelets) is a known reaction to clarithromycin. However, number of platelets also tends to vary dramatically and a change from 150, 000 to 128, 000 could be accounted for by lab variability & vagaries of life. Besides, 2 data points doesn't give us a trend, as opposed to 3. Discuss w/your doc whether it's worth checking a 3rd time (probably not unless bruising/bleeding).

No: The drug would not be the cause but it is possible that what you are being treated for could. It is not a serious decrease so don't worry.
