Absolutely not: ..But, if a treated ulcer does not heal, surgery may be necessary."ulcers" of the stomach could be malignant if they don't respond to usual therapy. I really do very little non-emergent gastric surgery for ulcers anymore, the medical treatment being so effective. Good luck

Depends: It is depends on the severity with or without bleeding. Majority ulcer without bleed can be treated with medication. If ulcer not responding to medication, your doctor will try to find out other etiology, such as stomach cancer.

It depends: Ulcers in the stomach or small intestinal tract called duodenum is usually treated with medication like antacids or agents decreasing acid produvction. Need to also rule out bacteria called h. Pylori (can cause ulcer) as this needs antibiotics . When the ulcer causes rupture or hole in the organs then surgery is needed.
