Human bites: Human bites are potentially more dangerous than they appear to be. At the very least, this is a good opportunity to update your tetanus status. Check out http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/first-aid-human-bites/fa00057 for more info. Cleaning off bite area is always a good idea. Go see your doc especially if redness, pus, pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, etc.Go see doc now if bite involves joint.

Pain or skin break: The human mouth is a germ filled place. If the bite broke your skin, then you need to see a doctor. If you are having pain from the bite, then you need to see a doctor.

Go to your doc: You need to go to the doctor so he/she can get you a rx of antibiotics. Human bite wounds are considered dirty and can get infected. Remind them you are allergic to penicillin so they rx you something else.

Bites: Bites caused by humans can become infected, especially if the bite broke the skin. Also, it may be prudent to ensure that a tetanus shot is up to date for anyone who has had a bite wound.

Depends on severity: Largely depends on how bad the bite was--did it break the skin? If not, then a little bit of local care should be sufficient. An open wound would need more attention. Generally, as with any cut, the wound should be washed out aggressively, but bites are particularly "dirty" wounds, especially human bites. Might need antibiotics, or even a tetanus shot. At least we won't have to worry about rabies.
