Myth: There is no adverse effect to the kidneys by drinking water at night other than perhaps having to get out of bed to urinate more often. The kidneys do not need to 'take a rest' like other parts of our body.

Water is healthy: Drinking water and plenty of it throughout the day (as long as it is not contaminated) is good for the kidneys. They don't need a rest--especially at 25. Most don't drink enough. The water will help clear uric acid from your body and keep the kidneys functioning normally. Worst problem is having to wake to urinate during the night.

Water at night: The only problem with drinking water at night is that if you drink a lot of it you may wake up and have to urinate sometime during the early morning hours. Your kidneys do not need "rest". As the heart does, they work 24 hours a day and do not go to sleep at night. If you have no water retention problems, drinking water will not harm your health.
