If you have had a breast lift, are you happy with your results for ever?

Depends: A breast lift will improve the size, shape and position of your breasts. The results depend on the size of your breasts after the surgery, your age, the quality of your breast tissue and skin, and your overall health. As you continue to age, your breasts will continue to descend with time. The changes with aging may lead you to seek another breast lift in the future.

Very often: Most women are extremely satisfied with the results from their breast lift surgery assuming everything went well. Breasts will continue to age however, and you cannot stop time and gravity. Many women will find that they may want further enhancement down the road.

Often: Yes, but breasts may change over time, especially if the patient experiences pregnancies and/or significant weight gain/loss. Additionally, factors such as genetics, loss of skin elasticity as well as ongoing time/gravity play roles. For these reasons, the “ideal” patient for breast lifting is one who has completed pregnancies and/or weight gain/loss and has achieved a long-term stable weight.

Turn back hands time: There is an expression in plastic surgery that is taken for granted: we may be able to turn back the hands of time, but we can't keep the clock from ticking. This means that while we may be able to alter the shape or form at a particular point in time, other processes such as aging or weight gain are likely to alter those results. Lesson: be realistic in expectations.
