Yes.: All dental work should be completed prior to initiation of orthodontic treatment (braces). Once braces are placed on your teeth, many surfaces of the teeth are covered by brackets and wires. This makes cleaning your teeth more difficult and makes your teeth more vulnerable to cavities. The best case scenario is a clean bill of dental health before getting braces.
