Braces and fillings: Unless they are on baby teeth get them fixed before getting braces.

Unethical: It is simply bad practice to put braces on teeth that are diseased. No reputable Orthodontist will do that. They well team with your Family Dentist to first remove infection, then straighten teeth/jaws/bite, and finally place any necessary permanent restorations.
