Cause: It is not the ruptured ear drum that is draining but the middle ear mucosa that is inflamed that is the source of the drainage. One needs to know the cause and duration and size of the perforation before one can determine how long the drainage will last. You really need an ENT doctor for a diagnosis and advice.
