A member asked:

What if ear drainage doesn't stop with 2 to 3 days for a ruptured ear drum while on amoxicillin. should i be concerned? or just let it take its time.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You need ear drops: An ear perforation with drainage needs to be treated with ear drops. Amoxicillin by itself probably won't do it. Contact your doctor for a prescription. I like ciprodex, however, this can be very expensive. A combination of generic Ciprofloxacin eye drops and Dexamethasone eye drops can also work well.
