A member asked:

Why does oatmeal cause your blood sugar to go up?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carbs: Oatmeal contains carbohydrates, which break down to sugar in your gut. Oatmeal is a good source of complex carbohydrates and soluble fiber, but it is still a carb. Also, are you loading up your oatmeal with sugar/honey? Is this the highly processed/sweetened oatmeal?
