Try varying it.: Fiber is viewed favorably for its absorption of fluid, preventing constipation, lowering cholesterol and (sometime) blood sugar. However, it can contribute to bowel gas. A trial of reduced fiber might help. Another approach can be a trial of the active agent in Gas-X, simethicone; it's available in oral forms. Its mechanism of action is the reduction of bubble surface tension, reducing gas.
