If you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, the increased sugar might be a health issue (compared with no sugar at all). In that case, it would be best to use an artificial sweetener. But there's no health difference between sugars: brown, white, or whatever type tastes best to you.

Sugar in any form is not our friend. A natural sweetener called "Stevia" is what some people use. It's a root. Artificial chemical sweeteners are thought to be neurotoxic by some professionals. Peace and good health.
