Constipation: Some foods pull water into the stool (like prunes) and some foods remove water (like cereals and rice). To prevent constipation -- if you are otherwise well -- make sure you are taking in enough fluids and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fluids in foods, tea, coffee, and water all count, but to be healthy, limit your intake of sugary drinks and alcohol.
